Carbon Dioxide is a natural fire suppression agent. It is a colorless, odorless gas with a density approximately 50% greater than air. It is a naturally occurring substance exhaled by humans that poses no environmental problems.

Carbon Dioxide applies a blanket of heavy gas to the fire that reduces the oxygen content of the atmosphere to a point at which combustion is no longer possible. In addition, carbon dioxide leaves no residue so after-suppression, cleanup and fire-related downtime are minimal.
